Deer Resistant Plants

When creating a deer resistant landscape choose plants with natural defenses such as thorns or thick, fuzzy leaves that are unpalatable to deer. Each deer is different, and each landscape is different, so trial and error and patience are the best ways to determine what a hungry deer will eat.  Deer fencing protects young trees and low growing shrubs and perennials.  There are also many products that help protect plants from deer, such as Liquid Fence, Repels-All, and Bobbex.  It is important to remember that all of these products need to be reapplied throughout the season.
