Welcoming Fall at Garland Nursery

Fall is just a few weeks away. The beautiful leaves begin to turn vibrant colors and the air turns fresh again as the rains wash everything clean. We are so fortunate to live in the beautiful Northwest. This month we are exploring these changes with our Little Sprouts class. We will take our young gardeners on a nature walk and create beautiful pressed flowers. Wee Tree will be joining us again this month with their very popular Beginning Bonsai Workshop. This class usually sells out quickly so register today. Lee Powell is back to teach the second half of his Landscape Basics class. In Landscape Basics Part 2 - “Fleshing it Out”, Lee will share how to complete a landscape design by filling in with shrubs, groundcovers, perennials, bulbs and garden art. If you missed the first half, not to worry, this class will be just as informative as a stand-alone. Join us this month at Garland Nursery as we welcome fall together.

September Classes and Events

Little Sprouts: Nature Walk & Pressed Flowers
Sat. September 12th – 11 a.m.

As fall approaches and the leaves begin to turn vibrant colors, we are exploring these changes with our Little Sprouts class. We will take our young gardeners on a nature walk through the garden and see all the changes that are happening. Then we will create beautiful pressed flowers to take home. Registration required. Call (541) 753-6601 to register. Cost: $7 per child.

What to Do in the Garden:Bulbs and Garlic
Sat. September 12th – 1:00 p.m.

Fall is a time for planning and plotting and in What to Do in the Garden we are doing just that. We will share which are the best bulbs and garlic to plant this time of year and the coming month for a spring bloom and a summer harvest. No registration required. FREE and open to the public.

Landscape Basics Part 2  - “Fleshing it Out”
Sun. September 27th – 1:00 p.m

Join us as Lee Powell, landscape architect (PLA#288), completes the second half of Landscape Basics. In April, Lee shared design basics on how to create the structural foundation of your landscape. In Fleshing it Out, Lee will share how to complete the design by filling in with shrubs, groundcovers, perennials, bulbs and garden art. If you missed the April class, not to worry, this class will be just as informative as a stand-alone. No registration required. FREE and open to the public.
