Grasses for Specific Situations

Ornamental grasses contribute a unique structural element to the landscape year-round.  This is a diverse group, ranging in size from 12” bunchgrass types to 9’ tall giants.  Most varieties will tolerate full sun, but a few prefer at least some shade.  Remove previous season’s growth in late winter or early spring before new growth occurs to avoid squaring the tips of new growth.
